The game of the pharaohs, made to be handed down. Senet is the oldest board game in the world — the game Queen Nefertari was painted playing on the wall of her tomb, and that Tutankhamun carried into eternity. This is our finest tribute to it.
Each board is hand-inlaid in Egypt in the centuries-old tradition of the craft: [walnut / rosewood] set with mother-of-pearl and brass, its hieroglyphs carved and filled with [resin / colour] so they catch the light. No two boards are alike, and every one is the work of many patient hours at the bench.
Beneath the playing field, a built-in drawer holds the lion and jackal pieces and four casting sticks, while an illustrated booklet shares both the rules and the story of Senet as the soul’s journey through the afterlife. A certificate of authenticity confirms it was made in Egypt, by hand.
This is a piece for collectors and for giving — a board as at home on a mantel or in a display cabinet as it is between two players. An heirloom in the making, and a conversation that begins the moment someone sees it.
